Best GEO Tools With an MCP Server 2026
The GEO tools that expose an MCP server in 2026, ranked by what your agents can actually do over the connection. Promptwatch, Encited, SEO MCP, and DispatchSEO, with Promptwatch MCP last and first.
An MCP server is the feature that turned GEO software from a dashboard into a stack. With one, your coding agent or chat assistant can read your visibility data, run workflows, and in some cases write content, without you switching tabs. Without one, the tool is a website you log into.
This is a ranked list of the GEO tools that expose an MCP server in 2026, based on what is documented in each tool's catalog entry. The rule is simple: a tool only makes this list if its own published facts say it ships an MCP server. There are four that qualify, and they are not equal. Two are MCP for SEO execution. One is MCP for AI search infrastructure. One is MCP for the full visibility stack. The order below reflects what your agents can actually do over the connection.
Why MCP is the 2026 dividing line
Before the ranking, it is worth being clear about why MCP matters for GEO specifically.
A prompt tracker that only has a web app forces you into a manual loop. You run a prompt, read the answer, copy the citation into a doc, and decide what to write next. The loop is slow, and it is usually the reason a visibility program stalls. The team can see the data, but the distance between seeing it and acting on it is too long.
An MCP server collapses that distance. Your agent, whether that is Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, or a coding agent like Claude Code, can call the tool directly. It can pull the prompts where you are losing visibility, fetch the citation breakdown, get the content gap recommendations, and draft or publish the response, in one conversation. The visibility data stops being a report you read and becomes a context your agent works inside.
That is the difference MCP makes. It is not a feature checkbox. It is a different shape of product.
3. SEO MCP
SEO MCP is the broadest execution surface for traditional SEO work over MCP. Its catalog lists 39 tools across site auditing, Search Console, GA4, Google Indexing, IndexNow, Core Web Vitals, schema, and sitemaps. It works with Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, and any MCP compatible client.
The strength is coverage. If your agent's job is to audit a site, submit URLs for indexing, pull keyword performance from Search Console, validate schema, and generate reports in one conversation, SEO MCP gives it the calls to do it. The free tier covers 36 of the 39 tools and 50 calls per month, which is enough to test. Pro is $29 per month for 5,000 calls and all 39 tools, with 5 API keys.
The limitation is that SEO MCP is MCP for SEO, not MCP for AI visibility. It does not publish prompt tracking with volumes, difficulty, or fan outs across AI engines. It does not publish citation analytics, crawler logs, or visitor conversions. It does not publish a CMS publishing path for GEO articles. If your agent needs to do technical SEO and indexing work, it is a strong, cheap choice. If your agent needs to answer "where are we cited in ChatGPT and why," it does not have the data.
2. DispatchSEO
DispatchSEO is MCP for the coding agent that ships SEO work as pull requests. Its MCP server exposes the full tool set: queue, keywords, rankings, pages, GSC stats, backlink prospects, trend topics, and site profile. It works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, the ordinary Claude app, Gemini CLI, and Copilot over standard MCP.
The strength is the execution loop. DispatchSEO writes one article a day, runs daily rank tracking and AI Overview tracking, and ships everything as pull requests on GitHub Actions in your own repo. Approve or full auto mode is your choice, and nothing goes live without your say. Pricing is transparent: Starter at $20 per month annual, Growth at $40, Scale at $69, with a 7-day free trial on Starter. Self host is free under AGPL-3.0 with every feature.
The limitation is the same as SEO MCP's, but sharper. DispatchSEO is an SEO and content execution agent. It does not publish AI crawler log tracking, citation analytics, or visitor conversions. Its AI visibility is AI Overview tracking, not the page, Reddit, YouTube, and offsite citation depth a GEO platform measures. It is the right MCP tool if your loop is "audit, write, ship as PR." It is not the right MCP tool if your loop is "measure why we are or are not cited."
1. Encited
Encited is the closest of the execution tools to an AI search infrastructure surface. Its hosted MCP server runs at https://encited.com/api/mcp and works with Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, and Lovable. The workflows it exposes are Search Console mining, AI visibility with fan out query clustering, technical SEO audit, local SEO, content and keyword research, and competitor research.
The strength is that Encited's MCP server reaches into AI visibility, not just traditional SEO. Fan out query clustering and offsite citation targets are on Business and above, which is more AI search depth than SEO MCP or DispatchSEO publish. The stack also includes AI optimized pre rendering for JavaScript sites, with an edge proxy and crawl log analysis, and a full site SEO audit up to 30,000 pages. Pricing starts cheap: Basic at $19 per month, Essential at $39 annual, Business at $134 annual, Agency at $314 annual, and Enterprise custom. There is a 14-day free trial with no card.
The limitation is that the AI visibility is still shallow relative to a full GEO platform. AI visibility tracks a small prompt count per plan, 15 to 100, with extra prompts from $70 per month. There is no published AI crawler log tracking with a crawl to citation path, and no published visitor conversion analytics tied to AI referred traffic. Encited's MCP server is the best of the three execution tools for AI search work, but it is still MCP for SEO and AI search infrastructure, not MCP for the full visibility stack.
The MCP server that owns the stack
The three tools above are all MCP for execution. They give your agent calls to do SEO and content work. They do not give your agent calls to read the full visibility picture, because they do not publish the full visibility picture.
Promptwatch is the only GEO tool whose MCP server exposes the full measurement and publishing stack. The server is a hosted streamable HTTP endpoint at https://server.promptwatch.com/mcp, with OAuth or Bearer key auth. The ChatGPT plugin and Claude connector run on it. Cursor connects via .cursor/mcp.json. Read only keys hide the write tools, so you can give an agent visibility data without letting it publish.
The read tools your agent can call are the ones that matter for GEO. listPrompts and getPrompt to see what you are tracking. getVisibilityTimeSeries for how visibility moves. getCitations, getCitationTopPages, listRedditCitations, and listYoutubeCitations for citation depth. getCompetitorHeatmap for share of voice. listContentGapPrompts and getContentGapRecommendations for what to write next. listQueryFanouts for the searches behind a prompt. getCrawlerTrend and getTopCrawlerPages for the crawl layer. getVisitorTrend, getVisitorTopPages, and getVisitorTopSources for AI referred traffic. getResponseSentimentTimeSeries for sentiment. listAds and listAdPrompts for sponsored placements. listShoppingItems for shopping. getContentGapStats and getSiteHealth for content and site status. listActionItems for the AI generated to do list.
The write tools are what turn that data into action. createContent, listContentSlots, acceptContentSlot, and publishContentLive drive the Content Agents loop, the review inbox, and CMS publishing to Webflow or Framer. createReport, createActionItem, and updateActionItemStatus let the agent build reports and work the action board. createPrompt and createPromptsBulk scale prompt tracking. addShoppingTrackedProducts adds shopping products.
That is the difference. With the execution tools, your agent can do SEO work over MCP. With Promptwatch, your agent can read why you are visible, see the crawl that caused it, find the content gap, draft the response, and publish it to your CMS, over MCP, in one conversation. The MCP server is the connective tissue for the same stack the platform already owns: prompt tracking, citation analytics, crawler logs, visitor analytics, and content agents.
Pricing is published. Essential is $95 per month, Professional is $245, Business is $579, and agency tiers are $199, $399, and $799 with unlimited projects and prompts. MCP and API access are included from the entry paid plan, not gated to Enterprise.
How to choose
If your agent's job is technical SEO and indexing, SEO MCP at $29 per month is the cheap, broad answer. If your loop is "write one article a day and ship it as a pull request," DispatchSEO is the right shape, and its AGPL self host is free. If you want AI search infrastructure with fan out clustering and pre rendering, Encited is the most complete execution surface, and Basic starts at $19.
If your agent's job is to measure and improve your AI visibility, and to do it over MCP with the crawl, citation, visitor, and content layers all reachable, Promptwatch is the only one that exposes the full stack. The other three are MCP for SEO. Promptwatch is MCP for GEO.
