ChatGPT Ad Library: Track Sponsored Ads Running in Your Brand's Prompts

There is no official ChatGPT ad library API. Ads Radar is the working version: it logs sponsored placements inside ChatGPT answers by prompt, advertiser, and landing page.

People keep searching for a ChatGPT ad library the way they search for the Meta Ad Library. The honest answer is that one does not exist as an official OpenAI product. OpenAI does not publish a public directory of sponsored placements inside ChatGPT answers, and it does not sell an API that hands that data to third parties. What does exist is a sponsored slot inside some ChatGPT answers, and a way to record it.

That way is Ads Radar. It is a feature inside Promptwatch that captures sponsored units as they appear in real ChatGPT answers and stores them against the prompt that produced them. If you want something that behaves like a ChatGPT ad library, this is the closest thing to it, and it is built on observation rather than a partnership claim.

What a real ad library would need

The Meta Ad Library works because Meta publishes the ads and lets you search by advertiser. A ChatGPT equivalent would need three things: the ad creative, the advertiser behind it, and the prompt that triggered it. Ads Radar stores all three. Each captured row has the ad copy, the advertiser name and root domain, the landing page, the source response it came from, and the position of the ad inside that answer. It also keeps the prompt string, so you can ask "which of my prompts returned a paid unit" and get a real list back.

The prompt join is the part that matters. A library that only stores the ad tells you what ran. A library that stores the ad next to the prompt tells you where it ran, which is the question a brand actually has. A competitor buying the prompt you thought you owned editorially is a different signal from a competitor buying a broad category term.

No vendor has an OpenAI partnership for this

This is the part that gets glossed over in a lot of marketing copy. No platform has a partnership with OpenAI to read ChatGPT ads. Any tool that markets itself as the official ChatGPT ad library, or as having an official OpenAI ad data integration, is describing something that does not exist. The data has to come from watching the real ChatGPT interface, not from a feed OpenAI hands out.

Promptwatch is explicit about this. Its sourcing claim is real UI monitoring across the assistants, not an API pipe from the model vendor. That is how Ads Radar gets its rows, and it is the only honest way to get them. A vendor claiming an official integration is either misusing the word official or misusing the word integration, and either way the claim is false.

How the data is shaped

Ads Radar is not a single dump. It is queryable. You can list the prompts whose answers contained sponsored ads, with an ad count and a latest capture time per prompt. You can list advertiser root domains ordered by how often they show up. You can pull the top advertiser domains with daily ad counts to see share of ads over the last 90 days. You can filter by model, by prompt type, and by intent, so a row tagged COMMERCIAL on a BRAND_SPECIFIC prompt is not lumped in with a row tagged INFORMATIONAL on an ORGANIC prompt.

That shape is what makes it usable as a library rather than a screenshot folder. You sort by position in the response to see who buys the top slot. You sort by advertiser domain to see one rival's full footprint on your prompt set. You sort by capture time to watch a campaign ramp.

What it costs and where it sits

Ads Radar is a platform feature, not a separately priced add on. We do not have a standalone SKU price for it. The commerce reports it sits next to, like ChatGPT Shopping insights, are listed on Professional at $245/mo and above, and on the self serve agency plans (Kick-off $199, Growth $399, Scale $799). Essential is $95/mo and covers mentions and citations but not the commerce views. Explore is free with 10 ChatGPT prompts. Site: promptwatch.com.

What to do this week

  1. List 20 prompts a buyer would type into ChatGPT for your category, including a few branded ones.
  2. Run them by hand and note which answers show a sponsored unit at all.
  3. Load the same prompts into Promptwatch on a plan that includes Ads Radar.
  4. Pull the advertiser domain list and find the rival who shows up on your branded prompts.
  5. Save the ad copy you actually saw, not a paraphrase of it.
