Geostar vs Daydream (2026): hiring a GEO team for Shopify or for programmatic pages

Geostar is a managed GEO agency for Shopify brands with a $249/mo tracker. Daydream builds programmatic page systems on retainers listed from about $15K/mo. A buyer's guide.

Geostar and Daydream are both mostly services. You hire them to do AI search work for you, not to hand you a dashboard. The one-sentence difference: Geostar fixes and grows an existing Shopify store's AI visibility, page by page, while Daydream builds large systems of structured, data-backed pages for funded B2B companies. They rarely compete for the same client, but buyers shortlist them together because both sell outcomes instead of software.

Before you sign with either, decide whether you want to outsource GEO at all. We cover that, and the in-house route on Promptwatch, at the end.

Side by side

Geostar figures were read on geostar.ai, its pricing page and llms.txt on 20 October 2026. Daydream figures come from our catalog entry and are approximate.

How Geostar works

Geostar now leads with a managed service: its homepage and llms.txt describe a GEO and SEO agency for Shopify and ecommerce brands. The engagement starts with a free audit, then a week-one onboarding that connects Shopify, GA4 and a prompt library, then a monthly cycle. The team rewrites product pages (with your approval and rollback), fixes schema and llms.txt, writes content, places off-site citations and reports AI-attributed revenue by matching GA4 sessions with Shopify orders.

Underneath sits a tracking platform you can buy on its own. Lite is $249 a month on annual billing: three engines, 6,000 prompt executions a month, one region, 30 days of history and agent analytics showing which AI bots visit which pages. The page says annual billing saves $600 a year but doesn't show the monthly price. The pricing FAQ also says to contact sales for pricing while the same page shows $249. And llms.txt names Gemini among the engines Geostar helps with, while the pricing table has no Gemini row.

Homepage results are anonymous quotes ("Apparel, $24M GMV") without named clients, so read them as vendor claims.

How Daydream works

Daydream builds programmatic content systems: thousands of structured pages, with structured data in every page and an architecture aimed at AI citation, plus measurement loops on performance. It suits companies whose answers naturally live in structured pages, such as marketplaces or SaaS products with a large integrations surface.

It's an agency, not software. Our catalog lists engagements as diagnostics at roughly $10K to $25K one-time, retainers from about $15K a month, and one-off builds from about $30K to $250K. Treat those as approximate and get a quote. The structural point is ownership: the workflows and infrastructure are Daydream's, so when the engagement ends you keep the published pages but lose the system that maintains them. It also doesn't replace prompt tracking, citation analytics or crawler logs.

Who should pick which

  • A Shopify or DTC brand that wants an outside team to fix product pages and earn citations: Geostar. Ask for the monthly-billing Lite price and the engine list in writing.
  • A funded B2B company whose opportunity is thousands of long-tail pages: Daydream, if the budget is there. Negotiate IP and handoff terms before signing.
  • Anyone below a five-figure monthly budget: Daydream is out of reach, and Geostar Lite alone (three engines, 30 days of history) is thin as a tracker.

Questions to put to either agency: which engines do you measure, how often, and can I see the raw prompt data behind your monthly report?

The Promptwatch option

There are two ways to use Promptwatch here. The first is to run GEO in-house. Content Agents plan, write and publish GEO content to Webflow, Framer or WordPress through a review inbox, driven by content gap analysis. ChatGPT Shopping tracking shows how products appear in shopping answers, and citation analytics shows which pages and domains AI cites for each prompt. Professional at $245 a month includes 15 AEO articles, 150 prompts, crawler logs and visitor analytics that tie AI referrals to conversions.

The second is to keep the agency and hold it to independent data. Agency reports are written by the agency. A Promptwatch project tracking the same prompts gives you your own daily view of visibility, Agent Analytics crawler logs and AI-referred conversions to check those reports against.

Verdict

Geostar is the reasonable pick for a Shopify brand that would rather hire the work out, and its Shopify revenue reconciliation is a practical touch. Daydream is for well-funded B2B teams with a programmatic opportunity and a large budget. Most brands should start by running GEO themselves on Promptwatch; if they still hire an agency, they'll know what to measure it against.
