Is ChatSEO Worth It?

ChatSEO.app looks like GEO software because one agent is named GEO. It is a Search Console SEO chat. Software buyers should read the credit ladder first.

ChatSEO will show up in a GEO shopping tab because the homepage says cited in AI search and the pricing page lists a GEO agent. Then you connect Google Search Console. You buy credits. You get keyword research, on-page rewrites, and a CMS publish path. That is SEO software with a GEO sticker. Promptwatch is the GEO software we rank for measurement.

Whether ChatSEO is worth it depends on whether you needed a cheap Google SEO operator or a dashboard of ChatGPT mentions.

The framing of the question is what makes the answer hard. ChatSEO shows up in a GEO shopping tab because of two strings on its homepage and pricing page, but the product behind those strings is a Search Console chat that does keyword research, on-page rewrites, and CMS publishing. That is a real product and a useful one, but it is not the product a GEO buyer is shopping for, which is a dashboard of AI-answer mentions. So whether ChatSEO is worth it splits into two questions: is it worth it as cheap Google SEO software, and is it worth it as GEO software. The answer to the first is conditional yes. The answer to the second is no, on this listing.

What you log into

chatseo.app. Founders: Nicholas Dulait in Brussels, Paul Vengeons in Caen, Léo Leducq in Bordeaux. English and French. llms.txt dated 28 July 2026. Pricing we used is 28 August 2026.

The product is a chat. Connect Search Console (read-only, per their FAQ). Pro adds Google Analytics. CMS: WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, you approve, it goes live. DataForSEO is named as the research feed. MCP and REST API open on Pro. Features.md does not list a prompt tracker. It lists keyword research, competitors, backlinks, technical audit, local SEO, writer, on-page, GSC, SEO analytics, MCP.

Twelve agents on paid plans. GEO (get cited by AI) is one line next to NinjaLinking (free backlinks). We did not find ChatGPT / Gemini / Perplexity / Grok as a coverage matrix, or a response quota. If you came here for software that scores share of voice in AI answers, this listing does not publish that product.

The product surface is the thing to read first, before the pricing. It is a chat. You connect Search Console in read-only mode, Pro adds Google Analytics, and the CMS publish path covers WordPress, Shopify, and Webflow with an approval step before anything goes live. DataForSEO is named as the research feed, MCP and REST API open on Pro, and the features list runs through keyword research, competitors, backlinks, technical audit, local SEO, writer, on-page, GSC, SEO analytics, and MCP. What the features list does not contain is a prompt tracker. The twelve agents on paid plans include a GEO agent labeled "get cited by AI," but it sits next to NinjaLinking, and the listing does not publish a coverage matrix for ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, or Grok, nor a response quota. If the shopping query was software that scores share of voice in AI answers, this listing does not publish that product.

The credit ladder, including the contradictions

Excluding VAT. Euros. Vendor says the same amounts in USD. Annual -20% as a per-month equivalent. Stripe. 24-hour refund. Cancel when you want.

Starter from €29/mo: 100 credits, one connected site, GSC, the twelve agents, backlink analysis, weekly reports, AI writer, CMS. You can buy up the credit rows to €79 for 350 credits. Pro from €49: 200 credits, three sites, three members, GA, MCP, API. Ranker from €79: 400 credits, ten sites, five members, onboarding call. Extra credits: +50 for +€10, up to five steps.

Free exists. pricing.md: 10 prompts to start, then 3 per day, 40 per month. FAQ: 5 free prompts, no card. Header: 1 credit equals 1 message. FAQ: heavier actions cost more. Homepage: replaces Semrush, Screaming Frog, Surfer, Yoast. FAQ: does not replace SEO tools, it replaces interpreting them. ChatSEO's own reviews article still treats Ranker as custom. The live pricing table is a Ranker grid from €79. Keep the live grid. Screenshot the free cap after login.

Unused credits roll over up to one extra monthly allocation. You can swap connected sites. That is useful for a consultant. It is still not a GEO crawler SKU.

Vendor chrome: 10,000+ website owners, 130,000+ analyses, logos (Zenchef, Captain Contrat, Campus Coach, Alinea, HelloWork, Fitness Park). GSC screenshots attributed to Timothée Tabary (tripled clicks in 3 months), Sébastien BRD (0 to 225 clicks/day), Daniel Hyatt (+46% in 3 months). In-house reviews hub: 4.9/5, 200+ verified. All vendor. None of those graphs is a citation share-of-voice chart.

The credit ladder is public, which is the part we prefer over a quote wall, but it carries contradictions the buyer has to resolve. The free tier is the clearest example: pricing.md says 10 prompts to start, then 3 per day and 40 per month, while the FAQ says 5 free prompts with no card. The header says 1 credit equals 1 message, but the FAQ says heavier actions cost more, which means the 1-to-1 ratio is a floor, not a rule. The homepage claims the product replaces Semrush, Screaming Frog, Surfer, and Yoast, while the FAQ says it does not replace SEO tools, it replaces interpreting them. The reviews article still treats Ranker as custom, but the live pricing table is a Ranker grid from €79. The useful parts are real: unused credits roll over up to one extra monthly allocation, and you can swap connected sites, which is genuinely useful for a consultant. None of that adds up to a GEO crawler SKU.

Software versus the GEO job

GEO software, on this site, has to show why you appeared in an answer, not only that you shipped a better H1. Promptwatch Explore is free (10 ChatGPT prompts). Essential is $95/mo: 50 prompts, 6,000 responses, 200K visitor events, five AEO articles, citation analytics. Professional is $245/mo: 25M crawler logs among other limits. Agency Kick-off $199, Growth $399, Scale $799. G2 4.7/5, 1,840-plus customers, Amsterdam, founded April 2025.

ChatSEO €29 is closer to a Surfer-plus-writer invoice than to Essential. Pro GA is Google Analytics. It is not AI-referrer conversion tracking. WordPress publish is a genuine software feature. Promptwatch documents Webflow and Framer today, WordPress later. That does not move ChatSEO up the GEO ranking.

The line between SEO software and GEO software is what the product shows you. SEO software shows you that you shipped a better H1, or that clicks moved in Search Console. GEO software shows you why you appeared in an AI answer, which means citation analytics, crawler logs, and AI-referrer conversion tracking. ChatSEO at €29 is closer to a Surfer-plus-writer invoice than to Essential, because it does the SEO operator job and not the measurement job. Pro GA is Google Analytics, which is not the same as AI-referrer conversion tracking. The WordPress publish feature is genuine and useful, and Promptwatch documents Webflow and Framer today with WordPress later, but a publish feature does not move ChatSEO up the GEO ranking, because publishing is not measuring.

Who should pay €29

Pay Starter if you want Search Console turned into tasks and you will hit approve in WordPress. The credit model is public, which we prefer to a quote wall. Just freeze the free-prompt number yourself because the vendor published two.

Skip it as "GEO software." The GEO agent does not, on this listing, replace prompt tracking, Agent Analytics, or Reddit/YouTube citation views. If that was the shopping query, open Promptwatch first.

ChatSEO is worth it as a GSC employee. It is not worth it as the GEO platform in this directory.
