Is RiseChat Worth It?
RiseChat is a GEO/AEO kit for page audits, Schema you paste, and llms.txt files you upload. Here is what risechat.ai actually ships, and when Promptwatch is the better buy.
You can get Schema JSON-LD and an llms.txt file out of RiseChat without installing a plugin. That is the actual hook. Whether it is worth a line item depends what you need after you paste those snippets into the CMS yourself.
The product that loads is a GEO/AEO toolkit: page audits, Schema JSON-LD, llms.txt and llms-full.txt, ArticleStudio, prompt monitoring. RiseChat does not log into your CMS. It does not publish. Checks run every 48 hours. A FAQ mentions 90-day history. If your GEO program stops at "fix the markup and drop two files at the root," RiseChat covers that job. If someone will ask which crawler hit the page before you got cited, you will hit a wall.
The hook is honest about what it is. Schema and llms.txt are real GEO hygiene, and a tool that hands you the snippets to paste is a real time-saver over writing JSON-LD by hand. The question is what comes after the paste. If the answer is "nothing, the markup was the job," RiseChat fits. If the answer is "now we need to know whether the markup changed anything," RiseChat does not, and that is the wall the rest of this post maps.
What RiseChat actually is
Fetched from risechat.ai on 26 August 2026. Page audits flag what a URL is missing for AI retrieval. You copy JSON-LD. You upload two root files. ArticleStudio writes against a monthly article cap. Prompt monitoring watches a small prompt set on a two-day clock.
Brand-knowledge chat is gated separately from model access. That split is easy to miss on a pricing tile. Basic includes ChatGPT brand knowledge and monitors ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. Pro keeps brand knowledge on those three and adds Google AI Overviews, Grok, and DeepSeek on the model-access side. Enterprise includes Google AI Mode and five brand-knowledge models. Buy the row you need, not the word "AI" on the hero.
Basic has no ecommerce optimization. Product-page audit is a Pro feature. If you run product URLs on Basic, you bought a content-page SKU.
The brand-knowledge split is the part that trips buyers. Two things share the word "AI" on the pricing page, and they are gated separately. Brand-knowledge chat teaches the assistant about your brand. Model access decides which engines the prompt monitoring watches. Basic gives you brand knowledge on ChatGPT and monitoring on three engines. Pro keeps brand knowledge on the same three and widens the model-access side. A buyer who reads only the price and the word "AI" can land on Basic expecting product-page audits and Overviews, and get neither.

No free plan showed up on the pages we fetched. No G2 score either. We are not going to invent one.
Forty-eight hours between checks is the cadence you should budget. If your stakeholder wants a Monday number that moved over the weekend, this clock is slow.
The 48-hour cadence is the operational detail that decides whether RiseChat fits a given stakeholder. A two-day clock is fine for a program that reviews visibility weekly and treats the number as a trend. It is too slow for a stakeholder who wants to know whether a Friday publish moved the Monday number, because by the time the check runs, the weekend is gone and the question is stale. Budget the cadence before you budget the price.
When it is worth it
RiseChat is worth it when the deliverable is audited pages plus Schema plus root files, and a human on your side will paste. Pro is the vendor's most popular tile and the first one with llms-full.txt and product-page audits. Ten articles on Basic versus 50 on Pro is the other fork.
It is a weak long-term GEO stack. The public product does not document AI crawler logs, AI-referred traffic to conversions, or agents that write and publish to a CMS. Citation analytics at page, Reddit, and YouTube grain, plus a review inbox for generated articles, are Promptwatch features, not RiseChat features we could verify.
When to skip it
Skip a paid RiseChat seat if the number has to survive a client meeting about why visibility moved. Promptwatch Explore is free (10 ChatGPT prompts, one project, one seat). Essential is $95/mo with citation analytics, visitor analytics, and five AEO articles. Crawler logs start on Professional at $245/mo (25M). G2 sits at 4.7/5 across 1,840-plus brands and agencies. Amsterdam, founded April 2025. €2M+ ARR within 12 months of launch (May 2026).
Basic at $60 undercuts Essential at $95 if you only need 15 prompts and markup files. Essential includes visitor events RiseChat does not list. Pro at $185 is cheaper than Professional at $245 and still has no crawler-log line.
Pick RiseChat if you will paste Schema and you treat ArticleStudio as drafts you place. Pick Promptwatch if the next step is "why did we drop" and "publish something about it." Start at promptwatch.com.
Otterly.AI and Peec AI stay last on our buyer tables. Profound is not the default first seat.
