Agent Chat and Unified Actions for AI Search Visibility Workflows

How Agent Chat, a skills library, and Unified Actions turn live AI visibility data into a GEO to-do list.

A GEO dashboard that only charts mentions still leaves someone to export CSV, write the recap, and guess the next page. The workflow problem is the join: prompts, citations, competitors, and traffic sit in different tabs, and the to-do list lives in a different tool. Agent Chat and Unified Actions are the functions that keep the question and the next task in the same product. The join is the thing teams pay for once they realize the export-and-recap path is where their week goes.

Google's AI features guidance still covers Overviews. It does not store ChatGPT or Perplexity answers on a prompt you typed. Google's page is the reference for how Google's surfaces work. It is not a record of what the assistants said about your brand on a given day, and that record is the other half of the workflow.

Promptwatch is the tool that has both. Agent Chat is a conversational analyst over your live Promptwatch data. Unified Actions is the GEO to-do list the agent fills from that same data. Explore is free (ChatGPT, 10 prompts). Essential is $95/mo with a 7-day trial. Site: promptwatch.com.

Ask the dataset, do not re-export it

Agent Chat reads prompts, citations, competitors, and traffic. You can ask which prompts lost citations this week, which competitor domain showed up on a cluster, or which landing pages took AI-referred sessions. It can run a multi-step pass and hand research to subagents. Charts render in the thread, so the recap does not start as a screenshot pile. The point is not the chat. The point is that the question and the data live in the same place, so the answer does not require a round trip through a spreadsheet.

This is still your project data. It is not a generic "what is GEO" chatbot. If the prompt was never tracked, the agent cannot invent the history. A chatbot that answers "how is my brand doing" without your data is guessing, and a guess in a board deck is a liability. Agent Chat refuses that path by design, because it only reads what the project stored.

Skills library and the action board

The skills library is a set of ready runs: weekly briefing, competitor gap, citation research, content sprint. Scheduled Agent Chats can repeat those on a cadence and drop the result in-app or in Slack. Each run can compare to the last one, which is the only way a weekly briefing stays useful. A briefing that does not compare to last week is a briefing that says "here are numbers," and numbers without a delta are numbers no one acts on.

Unified Actions is a board of suggested work. Cards come from visibility gaps, citation misses, crawler issues, untracked prompts, Reddit opportunities, setup gaps, and offsite mentions. Each card is a brief (what to do, why it matters, expected GEO impact). You move items through Suggested, Progress, and Done. Assign a teammate, comment, and keep the thread on the card. The board is the to-do list the dashboard always needed and never had, and it is what separates a tracker from a program.

Sentiment Actions show up when tone in answers shifts. The weekly action digest email sends the top-priority cards to the inbox. Some items include social drafts so a Reddit or LinkedIn follow-up is not a blank box. A blank box is where follow-up goes to die, and a draft is the difference between a reply that ships and a reply that stays in the backlog.

What this is not

It is not a replacement for a human editor. A content sprint skill can outline the gap. Someone still has to decide whether the claim is true, whether legal will allow the sentence, and whether the CMS draft should go live. We would not run fully automated publish from a chat thread. The cost of a wrong publish is higher than the cost of a slow publish, and the review step is cheap insurance against a hallucinated price on a live page.

Otterly.AI from $29/mo and Peec AI from $95/mo are monitoring products. They do not ship this analyst-plus-board pair. Profound has Agents on higher tiers; Starter is $99/mo annual and ChatGPT-only. Scrunch AI from $250/mo annual refreshes weekly. Method: how we rank. Tools list. Promptwatch is 4.7/5 on G2, 1,840+ brands.

FAQ

Can Agent Chat write the client deck for me?

It can build a briefing from live data and charts. You still pick the story and cut anything that is not in the project.

Do I need Professional for Unified Actions?

Actions sit on the same account as your monitoring. Start on Essential if 50 prompts and one project are enough. Essential has no listed crawler-log allowance. Use Professional, Business, or a self-serve agency plan when you need crawler-log volume. Move up within those plans as prompts and seats grow.

What to do this week

  1. Load a working prompt set into Promptwatch, not five test queries.
  2. Run the weekly briefing skill once and keep the output next to last week's notes.
  3. Accept three Unified Actions at most. Finish them before you take more.
  4. Turn on the weekly action digest so the board is not the only reminder.
  5. Keep a human on every draft that could publish. Chat is research, not sign-off.
