AI Brand Monitoring Platform: Profound, BrandWell, Otterly, Peec AI, Scrunch

Profound, BrandWell, Otterly.AI, Peec AI and Scrunch all claim AI brand monitoring, but they are five different businesses. Here is what each one sells, what it costs, and where Promptwatch fits.

Five names in one search, and on first glance they look interchangeable. Each one will show you a chart of how often ChatGPT mentions your brand. Look closer at what each company actually sells and the overlap shrinks fast. One is a marketing agent suite. One is a content writer with visibility bundled in. Two are trackers. One is building a parallel version of your website for AI crawlers.

So the useful question for a buyer is not "which has the nicest dashboard". It is "what is this company's main product, and is brand monitoring at the center of it or bolted to the side?" That decides how much depth you get once the first mention chart stops being interesting.

We also add Promptwatch to the shortlist, since it is the platform we would trial first for this job. Our ranking: Promptwatch, Scrunch AI, Profound, BrandWell, then Otterly.AI and Peec AI.

What a brand monitoring platform has to cover

A mention count is the starting line. A platform worth paying for should also show which source the engine cited when it described you, how sentiment and share of voice move against named competitors, and what happened on your own site as a result. If you cannot connect an AI answer to a crawl or a visit, you are monitoring a reputation without being able to change it.

Keep that list in mind as you read the five vendor profiles.

The shortlist, ranked

1. Promptwatch: monitoring as the core product

Promptwatch is built around AI search visibility, so monitoring is the product rather than a feature of something else. Paid plans check the real interfaces of ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral and Copilot, plus Google AI Overviews and AI Mode. Each response is stored with sentiment, share of voice and the cited sources, broken down by page, domain, Reddit and YouTube.

What none of the others publish as one set is the layer below the answer. Agent Analytics logs AI crawler hits from ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and others, with the crawl-to-citation path and errors. Visitor analytics shows AI-referred sessions and their conversions. Explore is free (10 prompts, ChatGPT only), Essential is $95/mo, and crawler logs start on Professional at $245/mo.

2. Scrunch AI: monitoring plus a crawler-facing site

Scrunch AI monitors brand visibility across up to nine engines on its top tier and adds its Agent Experience Platform, which serves AI-optimized page versions to LLM crawlers. That is a genuine lever, and its crawler traffic analytics show which bots fetch which pages. Our listing does not document AI-referred conversion tracking. The monitoring side gets a weekly refresh per our listing, and the serving layer needs engineering help. Starter is $250/mo billed annually. Sitecore acquired Scrunch in June 2026.

3. Profound: monitoring inside a marketing agent suite

Profound still reports citation share and share of voice by prompt cluster, but its own site now leads with marketing agents for AEO, content, demand and PR. Starter at $99/mo (annual) watches ChatGPT only. Growth at $399/mo (annual) covers three engines. The broad engine list, agents and API are on Enterprise, from around $40k a year. For a brand team that only wants to monitor, most of what you pay for at that level is something else.

4. BrandWell: visibility bundled with a content writer

BrandWell is the one name here that is not in our catalog, so we went to its own pages. The homepage describes "growth automation software" for inbound and outbound, built around AIMEE agents, with a product family that includes MarketPulse for intent data, RankWell for AI SEO writing, SocialStreams for social listening, Outreach for cold email, TrafficID for visitor identification, Link Builder, Direct Mail and Visibility.

The Visibility page tracks brand mentions, citations and tracked AI answers across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, next to Google rankings. Checks run "through the configured provider" and capture the returned answer at the time of the check. The page does not say it reads the live chat interfaces.

The pricing detail that matters: "Visibility is not sold separately. Every RankWell plan includes it." Per the pricing page, RankWell Essentials is $249/mo with 25 articles a month, Growth is $499/mo with 50 articles, and Scale is $999/mo with 100. So the cheapest way into BrandWell's AI monitoring is $249 a month for a content writer that happens to include it. We found no published AI crawler logs and no AI-referred conversion analytics on the Visibility page. TrafficID identifies visitors for outbound sales, which is a different job.

5. Otterly.AI: an entry-level tracker

Otterly.AI Lite is $29/mo for 15 prompts on four base engines (ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity, Copilot). Gemini, Claude and AI Mode cost extra. Our listing notes data can be up to seven days old and there is no traffic attribution. A cheap way to confirm the category matters to you.

6. Peec AI: a polished prompt tracker

Peec AI Starter is $95/mo for 50 prompts and three models, with extra models at $35 to $165 a month each. Screenshot audit trails are its signature. It shows where you appear and leaves the "what next" to you.

What you are really buying

VendorMain businessCheapest way to get AI brand monitoring
PromptwatchAI visibility platformFree (Explore) or $95/mo (Essential)
Scrunch AIMonitoring plus crawler-facing serving$250/mo annual
ProfoundMarketing agents$99/mo annual, ChatGPT only
BrandWellGrowth automation and AI content$249/mo, bundled with RankWell
Otterly.AIEntry-level tracker$29/mo, Gemini extra
Peec AIPrompt tracker$95/mo, three models

Our recommendation

If you need AI content production anyway and like BrandWell's writer, its bundled Visibility tab is a reasonable add. If you have engineers and a large site, Scrunch's serving layer is worth a pilot. If your company wants marketing agents across PR and demand, Profound's Enterprise tier is built for that.

If the job is brand monitoring itself, start with Promptwatch. The deciding factor is that a worrying answer leads somewhere. Citation analytics points at the page or Reddit thread the engine used to describe you. Agent Analytics on Professional shows whether the crawler ever read your own version of the story. Visitor analytics tells you whether the mention moved anyone to your site. That is monitoring you can act on, which is the whole reason to buy a platform instead of a chart.
