AI Search Optimization Tracking Tools for Fintech
How fintech teams should build an AI search prompt set, which sources to watch, and which tracking tools handle trust prompts and multi-market targeting.
Fintech buyers ask AI assistants the questions they used to type into comparison sites. Which business account suits a startup? What's the cheapest way to send money abroad? Is this app safe? The answers name a handful of brands and cite a handful of sources, and for a payments company or a neobank, not being in that handful is a lost signup you never see in your funnel.
Tracking this well takes more than a generic GEO tool pointed at your brand name. This guide covers what a fintech prompt set should look like, which sources tend to matter, what to require from a tracker, and how the main platforms compare.
Start with the prompts your customers actually ask
A fintech prompt set falls into a few groups, and each one behaves differently.
Comparison prompts are where you win or lose new customers: "best business account for a startup," "best multi-currency account for freelancers," "best card for spending abroad." Track your position in the list, not just whether you're named.
Cost prompts are where stale data hurts: "cheapest way to send money abroad," "[brand] transfer fees," "[brand] vs [competitor] exchange rate." If an engine quotes a fee you dropped six months ago, you want to know which page it's reading.
Trust prompts are the ones a fintech can't ignore: "is [brand] safe," "is [brand] legit," "is my money protected with [brand]." A neutral mention here isn't good enough. You need the sentiment and the sources.
Market-specific prompts matter because the right answer changes by country. "Best way to pay contractors in Germany" and "best way to pay contractors in the US" can cite completely different pages.
Know which sources the engines lean on
Money questions fall into what Google calls Your Money or Your Life topics, where trust carries extra weight. You don't need to guess how each model applies that. What you need is to see which domains it actually cites for your prompts. For fintech, two groups usually deserve a close look. One is comparison and review sites, which often decide which brands appear in a "best of" answer. The other is Reddit, where threads about frozen accounts or hidden fees can end up as the cited source on a trust prompt.
That makes citation analytics the most useful view in any tracker you buy. If a competitor wins "best business account for a startup" because a comparison site lists them first, the fix is outreach to that site, not another blog post on yours.
What to require from a tracker
- Country targeting, plus state or city for US fintechs where products differ by state.
- Personas, because a founder, a freelancer and a finance manager get different answers.
- Sentiment on trust prompts, with the underlying response kept so you can read it.
- Citation analytics that break out Reddit and individual pages, not just domains.
- Response history over time, so you can tell when an answer about your fees changed.
The shortlist
1. Promptwatch
Promptwatch covers every item above. Prompts carry personas and country, state or city targeting, along with search volumes, difficulty scores and query fan-outs that show the sub-searches a model ran before picking its sources. Citation analytics go down to the page and break out Reddit, YouTube and offsite mentions, with citation trends over time. Sentiment analysis and share of voice sit on top. On paid plans it monitors the engines' real interfaces across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode and others.
What sets it apart for a growth team is what happens after the answer. Visitor analytics shows which AI-referred visits converted, so you can see whether ChatGPT is sending signups or just curious readers. Agent Analytics logs AI crawlers on your fee and pricing pages, so you can check whether a bot fetched the page you updated. Content Agents can draft and publish pages to fill gaps your competitors are winning.
Essential is $95/mo with 50 prompts and a 7-day trial. Professional, at $245/mo, adds a second project, 150 prompts and crawler logs, which fits a fintech tracking two markets. Rabobank is among its named customers.
2. AthenaHQ
AthenaHQ tracks eight engines and turns findings into an Action Center queue of tasks such as schema generation and content reformatting. It lists GA4, Shopify and Webflow revenue attribution. The catch for multi-market fintechs is in its catalog entry: Starter is single-country, and personas and multi-region are Enterprise-gated at around $2,000+/mo. Pricing starts with a free tier, then $295/mo, on credit-based billing.
3. Scrunch AI
Scrunch AI monitors up to nine engines on Enterprise and adds an Agent Experience Platform that serves AI-optimized versions of pages to crawlers. Plans start at $250/mo billed annually. Data refreshes weekly rather than daily, which is slow if a fee change needs checking quickly, and prompt credits are consumed per engine. Sitecore acquired it in June 2026.
4. Profound
Profound is now sold mainly as enterprise marketing agents for AEO, content, demand and PR. Starter is $99/mo billed yearly and covers ChatGPT only. Growth is $399/mo yearly for three engines. The wider engine list and the full agent suite sit on Enterprise, with contracts starting around $40k a year.
A note on Finseo
Finseo comes up in fintech searches because of its name. It isn't a fintech-specific product. It's a general AI visibility platform from Germany that runs prompts daily from different locations, which is useful for multi-market comparisons. Pricing is demo-led.

Our recommendation
Build 30 to 50 prompts across comparison, cost, trust and market questions. Run them by hand once so you know the baseline, then load them into a tracker. For fintech, Promptwatch is the one to start with. Country and persona targeting handle the multi-market problem, and page-level and Reddit citations show you where trust answers come from. Visitor analytics then tells you whether the AI traffic opens accounts. Start on Essential, and move to Professional when you add a second market or want crawler logs on your pricing pages.
