Mentio review (2026): native Spanish AI visibility snapshots for 21 markets
Mentio writes buyer questions in native Spanish for 21 markets and runs them on up to five models from €29/mo excl. VAT. Every analysis is manual for now. What to check first.
Most AI visibility tools translate English prompts into Spanish and call it localisation. Mentio starts from the other end. It generates buyer questions in native Spanish (or English) for a chosen market, sends them to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and Perplexity, and returns a dashboard with a Mentio Score, organic visibility, average position, a competitive radar and recommendations. It covers 21 Spanish-speaking markets, from Spain and Mexico to the US Hispanic market, and its terms say it is governed by Spanish law.
The catch, stated plainly by Mentio itself: analyses are manual for now. This is a snapshot tool that you run when you choose to, not a monitor that runs on its own.
Who Mentio suits
Spanish and Latin American brands and agencies that want native-language questions and local competitor detection, and are comfortable measuring monthly or around a campaign rather than every day. A brand checking whether ChatGPT recommends it in Colombia before a launch is a good fit. A team that needs a daily trend line is not, yet.
Plans and what they include
Prices were read on mentio.tech/pricing and the English pricing page on 20 October 2026. Mentio labels them launch pricing, and all figures exclude VAT, which is added at checkout.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual (per month) | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | €0 | n/a | 1 brand, 3 analyses in total, 10 questions each, ChatGPT only |
| Personal | €29 | €24 | 2 brands, 5 analyses a month, 25 questions, 1 model of 5, 3 competitors |
| Pro | €79 | €66 | 5 brands, 10 analyses, 50 questions, 2 models, 5 competitors, recommendations, PDF export |
| Enterprise | €199 | €166 | 15 brands, 20 analyses, 80 questions, all 5 models, 10 competitors, priority support |
The English page shows the same plans in USD at $34, $89 and $219 a month. Extra analysis packs start at €25 and don't expire. Annual billing saves two months.
What works
The language work is the reason to buy. Questions are written natively for each market, and Mentio splits them into organic questions that don't name your brand and brand questions that do. Organic visibility, measured on the unbranded questions, is the number most brands should care about, and Mentio reports it on its own.
Fixing the market, language and model set per brand is also sensible. Every run uses the same setup, so a change in score reflects the answers, not a change in what you asked. And a free plan with three analyses lets you see the output before paying.
What to check before you pay
- Who will press the button? Mentio's FAQ says automatic runs are in development, weekly on Personal and Pro and daily on Enterprise. On the pricing page, scheduled analyses appear as "coming soon" on Enterprise only. Until they ship, your trend line depends on someone remembering.
- Which models do you get? Personal sees one of the five models and Pro two. All five need Enterprise at €199 a month.
- Can you live with your first model choice? Models are fixed per brand, so switching means starting a new history.
- Is 5 to 20 analyses a month enough? That limits how often you can measure, especially across several brands.
- Do you need Google? We found no Google AI Overviews, AI Mode or Copilot coverage listed.
Where it falls short of a full AI visibility platform
Mentio measures answers. The pages we read don't describe AI crawler logs, citation analytics at page level, or tracking of AI-referred visitors. So it can tell you that Perplexity ignores you in Argentina, but not whether PerplexityBot has crawled your Argentine pages, or whether the visitors ChatGPT sends you in Spain convert.
When Promptwatch is the better buy
The ongoing part of the job is where Promptwatch fits better. Every paid brand plan refreshes prompts daily, so nobody has to remember to run anything. Country-level tracking is on every plan, and state and city tracking start on Professional at $245 a month. That means a result in Mexico City isn't averaged into Madrid, and a regional chain can track Guadalajara and Monterrey separately.
Professional also gives you 150 prompts, 18,000 responses, 25M crawler logs and 1M visitor events. Agent Analytics shows which AI crawlers fetch your pages and where they hit errors. Citation analytics breaks sources down by page and domain, including Reddit and YouTube, which helps when the cited source in a market is a local forum or review site. Visitor analytics connects AI-referred sessions to conversions.
For an agency running clients across Spain and Latin America, the agency plans (from $199 a month, unlimited projects and prompts, 10 seats) avoid Mentio's brand caps. Essential at $95 a month is the smaller entry, with 50 prompts on all tracked LLMs.
Verdict
Mentio does one thing that few tools do well: native Spanish questions with local competitor detection across 21 markets. As a periodic snapshot for a Spanish-speaking brand, the €29 Personal plan or the free tier is a fair way to start. It isn't a monitor yet, and lower plans only see one or two models. If you need daily data by country and city, or proof that AI visibility turns into visits, Promptwatch Professional is the stronger buy.
