Siteimprove Advanced AEO Insights review (2026): What enterprise buyers should ask before the demo
Siteimprove's AEO module has no public price and three different engine lists across its own pages. A procurement checklist, and why Promptwatch publishes what Siteimprove keeps behind a demo.
Siteimprove Advanced AEO Insights is the AI visibility layer inside Siteimprove.ai Search, the SEO and AEO part of a platform most buyers know for accessibility and content governance. Siteimprove announced it on 20 April 2026 at Adobe Summit. If your organization already pays for Siteimprove, it deserves a look. If you are shopping for an AI visibility tool from scratch, the buying process will be slower than it needs to be.
This review is for the person filling in the procurement form. We read the Advanced AEO Insights page, the SEO platform page, the pricing URL, the April launch release and Siteimprove's blog guide on measuring answer engine performance on 20 October 2026.
What it is and who it is for
The module adds an AI Visibility dashboard to Siteimprove. The launch release lists what it tracks: AI citations and citation frequency, share of answers, brand sentiment, competitive positioning, revenue attribution and content performance. Siteimprove describes the method on its SEO platform FAQ. Its agents run a structured prompt set repeatedly and record brand mentions and content citations separately, then report a rate over time.
You start from a suggested prompt set, edit it, and group prompts by product line, region or buying stage. A Writing and Optimization Agent drafts content checked against brand and accessibility rules. Everything shares a data model with Siteimprove's accessibility, SEO and analytics modules.
The natural buyer is an enterprise or public-sector team already running Siteimprove for accessibility, where adding AI visibility to an existing contract saves a separate procurement cycle.
What you get per plan
There is no plan table. Siteimprove publishes no price for the module, read on 20 October 2026. The pricing URL showed the platform overview without a plan grid, and the AEO page sends you to a personalized demo. The only "plan" we can describe is Siteimprove.ai Search (SEO/AEO) with Advanced AEO Insights, quoted after a demo.
What works
Two design choices are good. Separating mentions from citations is the right call: being named in an answer and being the source the model links to are different outcomes, and plenty of trackers blur them. Segmenting prompts by region and buying stage is also useful for large organizations that report by market or funnel stage.
The writing agent that checks drafts against accessibility rules fits Siteimprove's background. For a regulated organization, that check is worth something.
Siteimprove also says it is a Representative Vendor in Gartner's 2026 Market Guide for Answer Engine Optimization. We did not read the Gartner report, so treat that as the vendor's statement.
What to check before paying
Here is the list we would send to the account executive before the demo.
- Which engines does our contract cover? The AEO page names ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. The SEO platform page adds Gemini, and its FAQ mentions Copilot. The platform overview mentions Claude. The blog guide compares AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot and Gemini. Get the list in the order form.
- What does revenue attribution mean in practice? The launch release lists it as a feature. Siteimprove's own guide says AI answers often pass no referral data and that attribution relies on indirect signals such as branded search lift, direct traffic spikes and post-purchase surveys. That is an honest description of an estimate. It is not session-level tracking of AI referrals to conversions.
- Do you analyze AI crawler logs? The pages we read do not describe it.
- What is the price as a standalone module, and as an add-on to our existing contract?
- How often do prompts run, and how many are included? We found no published figure.
The marketing line that the platform "replaces Semrush, Conductor and your accessibility platform", and the link drawn between WCAG compliance and AI rankings, are vendor claims we could not verify.
Where it falls short against a full AI visibility platform
The module measures answers. What it does not show, on the pages we read, is the step before the answer and the step after it. Before: did ChatGPT's or Perplexity's crawler fetch the page you just rewrote, and did it hit an error? After: did the people who clicked through from an AI answer convert? Without those, a share-of-answers chart shows that something changed but not why.
When Promptwatch is the better buy
For a team without an existing Siteimprove contract, Promptwatch is the simpler evaluation because the numbers are public. The Business plan is $579 a month for 5 projects, 350 prompts, 42,000 responses, 10M visitor events, 100M crawler logs, 30 AEO articles and 5 seats. Enterprise and custom pricing covers SSO, white-label and dedicated support for larger organizations. Annual billing charges 10 months for 12.
The gaps above are where it differs. Agent Analytics logs AI crawler visits (ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GoogleOther, Meta AI) and shows the crawl-to-citation path and errors. Visitor analytics tracks AI-referred sessions and conversions through a script or GTM template, which is measured attribution rather than an estimate from branded search lift. Engine coverage is stated once: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral, Copilot, plus Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, monitored through the real interfaces. Prompts can be grouped with topics, tags and personas, and tracked by country, state and city from Professional.
If you need content as well, Content Agents plan and write GEO pages from a content gap analysis and publish to Webflow, Framer or WordPress through a review inbox.
Verdict
Siteimprove Advanced AEO Insights makes sense as an add-on for organizations already standardized on Siteimprove, especially where accessibility review of new content matters. As a standalone purchase it is hard to judge: no price, three engine lists and an attribution feature its own guide calls indirect. Run a Promptwatch Business or Enterprise evaluation alongside the Siteimprove demo, and compare what each one can show you about crawlers and conversions, not only about answers.
