Trackbase review (2026): daily tracking on 11 models, EU hosting, and a very small prompt allowance

Trackbase starts at 49 EUR/mo with daily runs, crawler analytics and EU data hosting, but its 199 EUR Professional plan tracks only 20 prompts. A buyer's checklist.

Trackbase is a Dutch AI search visibility platform, built in the Netherlands and hosted in the EU. Every 24 hours it runs a fixed set of prompts on up to 11 models and turns the answers into a visibility score, sentiment, share of voice, citations and a competitor ranking. Around the tracker it adds crawler analytics, ChatGPT Shopping tracking, an action list with predicted impact, structured data automation and an MCP server.

For a buyer, the deciding question is whether it measures enough of your market. That comes down to one number.

Who Trackbase is for

The obvious fit is a Dutch or wider European marketing team, or a webshop, that wants daily multi-model data and cares where that data is stored. Trackbase says all data is hosted in the EU, and its llms.txt names infrastructure in the Netherlands.

The models on the top plan are ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Overview, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Grok, DeepSeek, Copilot, LLaMA and Mistral. That is broad coverage for the price.

What each plan gets you

We read the prices on trackbase.ai/nl/pricing and the English pricing page on 20 October 2026.

PlanPriceWhat's included
Essential49 EUR/mo1 brand, 10 prompts, 3 models (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity), 3 competitors, visibility score and sentiment
Professional199 EUR/mo20 prompts, all 11 models, 10 competitors, share of voice, AI Insights, Source view, Brand Book, Search Console and People Also Ask
Enterprise / AgencyOn requestMultiple brands and workspaces, custom prompts and models, MCP, SLA

Both paid plans come with a 14-day trial and no card. On Professional, automatic schema markup, MCP and ChatGPT Shopping are add-ons rather than included. Trackbase also sells one-off technical work, excluding VAT: 750 EUR for robots.txt, llms.txt and sitemap optimisation, 500 EUR per site to set up structured data, and 75 EUR per page after that.

What works

Daily refresh on all 11 models at 199 EUR a month is good value on coverage.

Crawler analytics is the other strong point. It shows which AI bots visit, which pages they read and how often, with status codes and referrers in a request log. Setup runs through a Cloudflare Worker snippet, Cloudflare Logpush or a WordPress plugin. The features page frames it well: put crawler data next to visibility metrics and you can tell a technical problem from a content problem.

The ChatGPT Shopping module records product positions, displayed prices and tags in shopping carousels and alerts on changes, which matters for webshops.

What to check before you pay

Take this list into the trial or the sales call:

  • Is 20 prompts enough? Essential tracks 10 prompts and Professional 20. That covers a brand check. It does not cover a category with dozens of buying questions across several markets and languages.
  • Which plan has crawler analytics? The pricing page doesn't say. Ask before you budget around it.
  • What do the add-ons cost? MCP, schema automation and ChatGPT Shopping are extras on Professional, and we didn't find their prices on the plan cards.
  • Which price list is current? The site's llms.txt, read the same day, still shows a free Launch plan, Essential at 79 EUR, Professional at 249 EUR and a 7-day trial. The live pricing page shows 49 EUR, 199 EUR and 14 days. Get the quote in writing.
  • Do you need several brands? Multiple brands and white-label sit only on the custom Enterprise / Agency tier.

Where it falls short of a full AI visibility platform

The prompt allowance is the main gap, and it is structural. A daily run on 11 models is only as useful as the questions you feed it, and 20 questions is a small sample of any market.

The second gap is the step after the answer. Trackbase describes crawler data and citations, but its pages don't describe tracking AI-referred visitors through to conversions. So you can see that ChatGPT cited a page and that GPTBot read it, but not whether anyone clicked through and bought.

When Promptwatch is the better buy

If volume is your constraint, Promptwatch Professional is the plan to put next to Trackbase Professional. It costs $245 a month and covers 2 projects, 150 prompts, 18,000 responses, 1M visitor events and 25M crawler logs. That is more than seven times Trackbase's prompt allowance, and the prompts carry search volumes, difficulty scores and query fan-outs, so you can choose which 150 questions to track instead of guessing.

The other difference is attribution. Promptwatch's visitor analytics ties AI-referred sessions to conversions through a lightweight script or a GTM template. Agent Analytics logs ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GoogleOther and the Meta AI crawler, shows the path from crawl to citation and flags crawl errors. You can feed it from Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront, Fastly, Vercel, Netlify, Akamai, Google Cloud CDN or a custom HTTP source, so it isn't tied to one CDN. Promptwatch also tracks ChatGPT Shopping, so webshops don't give that up.

For a single brand testing the water, Essential at $95 a month gives 50 prompts on all tracked LLMs. Prices are also available in EUR.

Verdict

Trackbase is one of the more complete Dutch platforms we've looked at: daily runs, eleven models, crawler analytics and shopping tracking, all EU-hosted, and a trial without a card. Buy it if your prompt set is genuinely small and data residency is a hard requirement. If you need to cover a real category or prove that AI answers bring in customers, Promptwatch Professional gives you the prompt volume and conversion data that Trackbase's plans don't.
