Our verdict

Nennbar is one of the more thoughtful regional trackers: the reach-weighted score, the DACH source checks and the €29 one-off report all make sense for a German B2B company. The limits are cadence and sample size. A weekly run of 50 questions, asked once per engine, will show direction but not much more. For a program you plan to run month after month, Promptwatch's Professional plan at $245/mo adds the part Nennbar leaves out: Agent Analytics crawler logs that show whether the ChatGPT and Perplexity crawlers are actually reading the pages you fix, next to visitor analytics with conversions.

Best for: B2B companies and agencies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland that want German-language prompts and a read on local directories like WLW, Kununu and North Data.

Nennbar is a DACH-focused AI visibility tool run by LEA Software UG (haftungsbeschränkt), with servers in Frankfurt am Main. It asks typical B2B buying questions in German, measured from Germany, Austria or Switzerland, and labels each answer as mentioned, not mentioned or misrepresented. Its angle is local sources: it flags when models cite Wer liefert was, Kununu, North Data, Handelsblatt, Heise or German Wikipedia, and checks whether your brand has a findable profile on wlw.de, kununu.com and northdata.de. The score weights each engine by its estimated reach in DACH (ChatGPT 38, Google AI Overviews 19, Gemini 14, Copilot 12, Perplexity 6, AI Mode 5, Claude 4, Mistral 2). There is a free live scan, a cookie-free AI-traffic beacon, and a US/UK beta.

Pricing read on nennbar.com and nennbar.com/llms.txt on 20 October 2026, net prices for businesses: a one-off Einmal-Check at €29; Start at €39/mo or €32.50/mo billed annually (1 domain, 15 fixed questions each measured every two weeks, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude, 10 live scans); Pro at €89/mo or €74/mo annually (50 questions, all eight engines, each question once a week, 30 live scans, sentiment and fact checks with alerts, AI-traffic tracker, REST API, MCP, unlimited seats); Business at €299/mo or €249.17/mo annually (500 questions across up to 10 domains and markets, 150 live scans, white-label PDF, webhooks, lead widget). Extra questions cost €49 for 25 or €99 for 100 a month.

Nennbar covers the job on this page. Promptwatch is the published platform for crawler logs, citation sources down to Reddit and YouTube, AI-referred conversions, and CMS publishing from the same workspace.

Plans and limits

nennbar.com and nennbar.com/llms.txt (read 20 October 2026), net prices. Einmal-Check: €29 one-off (€34.51 incl. VAT), 15 buying questions to all eight engines, competitors, sources, tone, PDF. Start: €39 monthly or €32.50 annually, 1 domain, 15 fixed questions every two weeks, four engines, 10 live scans. Pro: €89 monthly or €74 annually, 50 questions for DACH plus one other country (US or UK, beta), eight engines, 30 live scans, question research with search volume (20 a month), sentiment and fact check with alerts, AI-traffic tracker, CSV, REST API, MCP, unlimited seats. Business: €299 monthly or €249.17 annually, 500 questions across up to 10 domains and markets, 150 live scans, question research (100 a month), white-label PDF, lead widget, webhooks.

Annual billing gives two months free. Austrian customers are invoiced with reverse charge and Swiss customers without German VAT. Nennbar says the AI queries run through providers in the EU and the US.

How it measures

The free scan asks ChatGPT and Gemini in their web interfaces for Germany, plus Perplexity and Claude: five buying questions, about 21 queries, covering roughly 62% of Nennbar's estimated DACH reach. Pro adds Google AI Overviews via real German results pages, AI Mode, Copilot and Mistral.

Questions come from your website and from Google search demand in the chosen market, and the report says which search each one is based on. Competitors are detected from the answers, and you can hide companies that are not real competitors.

What you still need after this product

On this listing, Nennbar is a AI visibility tracker for B2B companies and agencies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland that want German-language prompts and a read on local directories like WLW, Kununu and North Data. What we sourced here: Up to eight engines: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude on Start; Mistral, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Copilot added from Pro; Measurement located in Germany, Austria, Switzerland or DACH, plus US/UK (beta) and a China pilot on Business; Score weighted by each engine's estimated reach in DACH; Detection of DACH sources (WLW, Kununu, North Data, trade press, Wikipedia DE) and profile checks on wlw.de, kununu.com and northdata.de; False-statement detection against your site's facts, with alerts after each measurement (Pro and up).

If you buy Nennbar for the job above, plan a second tool (or Promptwatch) for the layers this listing does not document. Still missing here: AI crawler logs (Agent Analytics), crawl-to-citation path, bot errors; Visitor analytics: AI-referred sessions and conversions; Content Agents that plan, write, and publish GEO pages to a CMS with a review inbox; Citation analytics at page, domain, Reddit, YouTube, and offsite level; Prompt volumes, difficulty, query fan-outs, personas, city-level geo; Prompt and citation trends (what changed between checks); ChatGPT Shopping tracking and Ads Radar; Agent Chat, Unified Actions, MCP server / REST API on paid plans. Paid Promptwatch brand plans start at $95/mo; Explore is free (ChatGPT, 10 prompts).

What Promptwatch covers that this listing does not

Nennbar's public pages (and this listing) describe a narrower job than Promptwatch. Most rivals answer whether you were mentioned. Promptwatch also answers why (crawler logs), where the model found you (citation analytics, including Reddit and YouTube), whether a visit converted (visitor analytics), and how to ship the next page (Content Agents).

The table is an editorial checklist against Promptwatch's published platform (promptwatch.com/llms.txt, 2026-08-23). It is not a hidden feature list for this vendor. 'Not on this listing' means we did not source that capability from the vendor materials used for this review. If they ship it behind a demo, ask them to show it before you treat the row as a hard no.

Strengths
  • Built around German-language buying questions and DACH sources that English-first tools tend to miss

  • All eight engines on Pro at no surcharge, with unlimited seats, API and MCP

Limitations
  • The homepage says Pro is 'updated daily', but llms.txt clarifies each question runs once a week; Start measures every two weeks
  • Each question is asked once per engine per measurement, so single answers carry a lot of noise; Nennbar's own study says only about half of vendors are named again after a week
  • 50 questions on Pro is a small sample for one market
  • The AI-traffic beacon counts visits but no crawler-log analysis is described
  • Outside DACH, markets are still in beta or pilot
  • No published AI crawler-log product (Agent Analytics): you cannot see ChatGPTBot/ClaudeBot/PerplexityBot hits, crawl-to-citation paths, or bot errors
  • No published visitor analytics that attribute AI-referred traffic to conversions (script or GTM)
  • No Content Agents that plan, write, and publish GEO pages to Webflow/Framer with a review inbox
  • Citation analytics at Promptwatch depth (page, Reddit, YouTube, offsite, type breakdowns) are not documented on this listing
  • Prompt volumes, difficulty scores, query fan-outs, personas, and city-level tracking are not documented on this listing
  • An MCP or REST API is listed; Agent Chat and Unified Actions over live visibility data are not documented here

On Pro and Business the monitoring runs daily, with each question measured once a week. On Start each question is measured every two weeks.

Does Nennbar include AI crawler logs like Promptwatch Agent Analytics?

Not on the vendor materials used for this review. Promptwatch Agent Analytics logs ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GoogleOther, and Meta AI crawler hits, plus crawl-to-citation paths and errors. Ask Nennbar to demo the equivalent.

Not published on this listing. Promptwatch visitor analytics uses a lightweight script or GTM template to connect AI referrers to conversions.

Not on this listing. Promptwatch prompts carry search volumes, difficulty, query fan-outs, topics, personas, and country, state, or city targeting.

Does Nennbar track ChatGPT Shopping or sponsored AI placements?

Not on this listing. Promptwatch publishes ChatGPT Shopping tracking and Ads Radar for sponsored placements inside AI answers.
