AI Search Visibility for Ecommerce Brands: GEO and AEO Tool Reviews
Short reviews of nine GEO and AEO tools for online stores, each with a verdict, what it stores, the deal-breaker, and the one test to run in the trial.
A store buying its first AI visibility tool has a narrower question than a SaaS company does. You don't only want to know whether ChatGPT names your brand. You want to know whether it recommends your product for the query that sells it, which page or retailer it sends people to, and whether those visits buy anything. Those are three different measurements, and most tools only do one well.
These are short reviews written for the person approving the spend. Each has a verdict, what the tool actually stores according to our directory listing, the deal-breaker to watch for, and the single test we'd run during the trial. If you want the broader strategy (Merchant Center, category pages versus product pages, how to assemble a stack), that's in our ecommerce GEO and AEO buying guide. This post is the review shelf.
Before you trial anything
Write down 30 prompts your customers actually type. Pull them from on-site search, your product FAQ, support tickets, and returns reasons. Mix category prompts ("best mineral sunscreen for sensitive skin"), product prompts ("is [product] waterproof"), and comparison prompts ("[your product] vs [rival]"). Use the same list in every trial so the results line up. Then decide which outcome you're paying for: being named, being linked, or being bought.
1. Promptwatch
Verdict: the one to evaluate first, at the plan that includes shopping data.
What it stores: prompt tracking across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot, and the other engines it monitors, plus Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, collected from the real interfaces. Citation analytics at page and domain level, including Reddit and YouTube, which matters for stores because product answers often cite reviews and videos. ChatGPT Shopping tracking and Ads Radar for sponsored placements inside answers. Visitor analytics that tie AI-referred visits to conversions through a script or GTM template. Agent Analytics crawler logs showing whether ChatGPTBot or PerplexityBot fetched your product pages.
Deal-breaker to watch: ChatGPT Shopping tracking and Ads Radar are on Professional ($245/mo), Business ($579/mo), and the agency plans, not on Essential ($95/mo). If shopping answers are why you're buying, don't trial Essential and conclude the feature is missing. Content Agents publish to Webflow and Framer, with WordPress listed as coming soon, so Shopify stores will use them for drafting rather than direct publishing.
First-month test: Essential has a 7-day trial, Professional doesn't list one, so budget one month on Professional if shopping data is the point. Run your ten best-selling product prompts and check whether the citation view shows your product page, a retailer, or a review site as the source. Then place a test order from a ChatGPT click and confirm visitor analytics attributes it.
2. AthenaHQ
Verdict: good for stores whose team works from a task list.
What it stores: tracking across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, and AI Overviews, rolled into a GEO score with sentiment. GA4, Shopify, and Webflow revenue attribution. An Action Center with assignable tasks such as schema generation.
Deal-breaker: Starter ($295/mo, $245 annual) is single-country. A brand selling separately in the US and EU will be pushed toward Enterprise, reported at around $2,000+/mo. Billing is credit-based.
Trial test: use the free tier's roughly 300 credits on your 30 prompts and see how far they go before you trust the monthly estimate.
3. Scrunch AI
Verdict: worth a look if you want crawlers to receive an optimized version of your product pages.
What it stores: visibility tracking across up to nine engines, competitor benchmarking, crawler traffic analytics, and the Agent Experience Platform that serves AI-optimized pages to crawlers without changing the shopper-facing site.
Deal-breaker: data refreshes weekly, and prompt credits are consumed per engine. Reporting is the top G2 complaint. Sitecore acquired the company in June 2026.
Trial test: ask for a demo of the crawler-served version of one product page next to the live one, and get in writing how changes are measured.
4. Wildcard
Verdict: a strong specialist for Shopify catalogs, best run beside a general platform.
What it stores: prompt tracking with search volume across ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews, Perplexity, Claude, Walmart Sparky, and Alexa+ Shopping, with Amazon Rufus in beta. Catalog sync from Shopify, BigCommerce, Salesforce, or a PIM. Per-SKU and per-collection rankings. Revenue attribution through to add-to-carts, checkouts, and revenue by platform.
Deal-breaker: Basic ($99/mo) refreshes weekly and covers 20 products and 10 actions. API and data export are Enterprise only.
Trial test: sync your top 20 SKUs and compare its per-SKU rankings with what you see by hand in ChatGPT for the same prompts.
5. Ranketta
Verdict: for sellers who will actually approve feed changes.
What it stores: SKU-level recommendation tracking, feed enrichment with confidence scores (from Store Starter), content drafts that need human approval, an MCP server, Looker Studio and Google Analytics connectors, and Cloudflare logging of AI bot visits.
Deal-breaker: enrichment, the feature that makes it distinctive, starts at Store Starter (€79/mo), not the €29 Store Tracker. Its listing also notes the marketing site's prices don't match the pricing page.
Trial test: approve enrichment on ten products and track whether recommendations for those SKUs change.
6. Profound
Verdict: an enterprise marketing-agent program more than a store tool.
What it stores: share of voice, citation share, and competitor cite-rates by prompt cluster, plus the Prompt Volumes dataset.
Deal-breaker: Starter ($99/mo annual) is ChatGPT-only with 50 prompts. Growth ($399/mo annual) covers three engines. The full engine list is Enterprise, from around $40k a year, billed annually.
Trial test: Growth has a 7-day trial. Confirm which three engines you get before it starts.
7. Attrifast
Verdict: cheap revenue attribution with a thin visibility module.
What it stores: AI traffic detection for ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, and Copilot, with Shopify and Stripe revenue attribution and revenue per visitor by channel.
Deal-breaker: Starter tracks 10 prompts every 30 days. It's an attribution tool first.
Trial test: compare its AI revenue for one week with your Shopify reports.
8 and 9. Otterly.AI and Peec AI
Otterly.AI is the cheapest entry at $29/mo for 15 prompts on four base engines, with data that can be up to seven days stale and no traffic or revenue attribution. Peec AI starts at $95/mo with 50 prompts and three models, charges $35 to $165/mo for each extra model, and has no revenue attribution. Both are monitoring-only, which leaves a store without the "were we bought" answer.
