Best GEO Tools for Insurance Companies in 2026
Ranked GEO tools for insurers in 2026: see which comparison sites and Reddit threads AI cites for your policies, and track answers state by state.
Ask an AI assistant for the cheapest car insurance for a new driver and look at where the answer comes from. It is usually not an insurer's website. It is a comparison site, a quote aggregator, a personal finance blog, or a Reddit thread where someone describes how a claim went. Insurers write the policies, but in AI answers they are often a line in somebody else's table.
The second problem is geography. An auto or home policy sold in one state can have different coverage options, discounts and availability in the next. A prompt like "best home insurance in Florida" and the same prompt for Ohio can produce different shortlists, built from different sources. If your tracking only runs at country level, you see an average that hides the states where you are missing.
So an insurer needs two things from a GEO tool. It has to show which domains and threads the engines actually cite, so you know whether to fix your own pages, get onto an aggregator, or answer a forum complaint. And it has to split results by location finely enough to match how the product is sold.
How we ranked
We scored each tool on what an insurance marketing or digital team would use week to week:
- Citation sources at domain level, so comparison and aggregator sites show up by name.
- Reddit and forum coverage, either as a citation view or as listening.
- Sentiment, or some way to catch a misleading answer about a policy.
- Location granularity below country level.
- A price you can find, or a plain statement that there isn't one.
Only one tool in our catalog documents state-level prompt tracking, and that shaped the top of the list. We gave no credit for compliance certifications and make no claims about any tool's compliance status. Ask vendors directly. Prices come from each tool's catalog entry.
1. Promptwatch
Promptwatch is the only tool on this list that documents prompt tracking at state level. State and city tracking start on the Professional plan at $245/mo and are included on every agency plan. Country-level tracking is on all plans. For an insurer, that means "best renters insurance" can be measured separately in Texas and in New York, and you can see where a competitor wins one state and you win the other.
The citation side is where it pulls ahead of the trackers further down. Citation analytics break sources out by domain and by page, with separate views for Reddit citations, YouTube citations and offsite mentions, plus a breakdown by citation type. When an aggregator's ranking page is feeding most answers for a policy line, you see it by name. When a Reddit thread about a slow claim keeps getting quoted, you see that too. Citation trends then show whether those sources are gaining or losing weight over time, which helps when you are deciding whether a partnership with a comparison site is worth chasing.
Sentiment analysis flags answers that describe your products negatively. Personas let you separate a first-time buyer from a small-business owner. Prompts carry search volumes and difficulty scores, so you can tell a high-demand policy question from a long-tail one. Monitoring runs on the real interfaces of ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, among others.
Pricing: Explore is free (10 prompts, ChatGPT only). Essential is $95/mo with a 7-day trial (50 prompts, 6,000 responses, one project, country-level tracking). Professional is $245/mo (150 prompts, 18,000 responses, 25M crawler logs, state and city tracking). Business is $579/mo (350 prompts, 5 projects). Agency plans run from $199 to $799/mo with unlimited projects and prompts.
2. Mentionable
Mentionable does a useful thing for insurers stuck behind aggregators. Its cited-domain tracking comes with an impact-ranked backlink shortlist and a market price next to each domain. In plain terms, it tells you which sites the engines lean on and what it might cost to appear on them. It tracks seven engines daily on every plan, captures fan-out queries from ChatGPT and Perplexity, and drafts a page for each visibility gap.
The drafts are pasted onto your site by hand, with no CMS publishing. Reddit engagement and generated pages consume scan credits on top of the prompt quota. Location tracking below country level isn't documented. Growth is 79 EUR/mo excl. tax for 115 prompts, and Pro is 149 EUR/mo.
3. Scrunch AI
Scrunch AI tracks visibility across up to nine engines, benchmarks competitors and reports crawler traffic. It also serves AI-optimized versions of pages to crawlers, which is interesting if your policy pages are heavy with scripts and tabs. Starter is $250/mo billed annually ($300 monthly) with 350 custom prompts.
The limits matter for insurance. Data refreshes weekly, and its entry says the optimization advice shows where you're not cited rather than what to change. Prompt credits are consumed per engine. Reddit coverage and sub-country tracking aren't listed.
4. Brand24
Brand24 comes from social listening. Its AI visibility add-on tracks nine engines with sentiment, key citing sources and AI share of voice, and sits next to listening across social, news, blogs, reviews and newsletters. For an insurer, the appeal is seeing a burst of complaints on review sites and forums next to the AI answers that may start quoting them. Its Events Detector sends email and Slack alerts on anomalies.
AI visibility is an add-on, not the core product, and neither the add-on nor the base plans have published prices.
5. Sprinklr LLM Insights
Sprinklr LLM Insights builds prompts from your own social listening, news and customer care data. That is a sensible source for an insurer, because care conversations show the questions people ask after a claim. It tracks ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overview, Copilot and Perplexity, and its report types include region and negative brand perception. It only exists inside Sprinklr Insights, with no public price, competitor reports cap at five rivals, and it was announced in June 2026 as a limited preview.
6. Wellows
Wellows centres on a single Citation Score tracked daily, plus verified outreach contacts and templates for the sites you want to be cited on. That outreach angle is the practical way into an aggregator's list. Plans cover 1 to 5 regions. The entry doesn't say whether a region means a country or something smaller, so ask before you count on it for state work. Lite is $37 per domain per month but tracks ChatGPT only. Five engines start at $297 per domain.
7. CrowdReply
CrowdReply is the Reddit specialist here. It runs daily prompt tracking with citation source intelligence, Reddit listening from Starter, and an Engagement Engine that posts comments and threads through what the vendor calls established community accounts. Insurers should read that last part carefully. Posting from persona accounts is a brand-risk decision, and the 7-day trial excludes the Engagement Engine. Starter is $99/mo for 20 prompts and two AI models.
8. Profound
Profound reports citation share and answer-level analytics, and its Prompt Volumes dataset shows real query demand. It is sold today as marketing agents for content, demand and PR more than as an AI-search tracker. Starter is $99/mo billed annually and covers ChatGPT only. Growth is $399/mo for three engines. The full engine list and Prompt Volumes sit on Enterprise, which starts around $40k a year.
9. Ahrefs Brand Radar
Ahrefs Brand Radar tracks AI Overview presence and mention share at index scale. Prompts are modeled from Google keyword data, chatbot indexes refresh on roughly monthly cycles, and an independent test cited in its entry found a large undercount of ChatGPT mentions. It needs an Ahrefs base plan from $129/mo, then $199/mo per AI index. It's fine for directional research. It won't tell you which state you're losing.
Buyer checklist for insurers
- Run your top policy prompt in a trial and ask for the cited domains. If the aggregators don't appear by name, the tool can't help you get onto them.
- Check whether Reddit shows up as its own citation view or only as listening.
- Ask how location works. Country, region and state are different things, and most entries only document the first.
- Pick two states where you know your position differs and test whether the tool can show the gap.
- Confirm refresh cadence. Weekly data is slow when a rate change goes live.
- Ask every vendor for its compliance documentation directly. Don't rely on a roundup for that.
Why Promptwatch for insurers
Insurers mostly lose in AI search to third parties: the comparison table, the aggregator review, the angry thread. Winning that back starts with knowing exactly which of those sources the engines read, then measuring it in the states where you actually sell. Promptwatch's citation analytics name the domains and Reddit threads behind each answer, and its state-level tracking on Professional splits the results by state. Start on Essential to map the citation sources for your main policy lines, then move to Professional once you need state breakdowns and crawler logs on your quote pages. You can set it up at Promptwatch.
