FoundInAI review: pricing, features & alternatives
Ranked #218Shopify app that checks which of your products AI engines cite and generates llms.txt and agents.md, free or from $9/mo.
Our verdict
FoundInAI aims at a real gap for small Shopify stores: product-level citation checks plus the llms.txt and agents.md files most merchants never get round to, all for less than $50 a month. It is also two and a half months old, unreviewed, and its own site disagrees with its App Store pricing, so try it on the free plan before you rely on its numbers. A store that needs prompt volumes, trends and the commerce view should evaluate Promptwatch, which tracks ChatGPT Shopping and sponsored placements through Ads Radar, shows which pages and Reddit or YouTube sources the models cite, and logs AI crawler visits alongside AI-referred visitors and conversions.
Best for: Small Shopify stores that want a cheap first look at which products AI recommends, plus the llms.txt and agents.md files set up for them.
FoundInAI (foundinai.co) is a Shopify app for AI visibility at the product level. It runs daily citation checks to see which SKUs ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Grok recommend, scores the store on readiness signals such as robots.txt, sitemap, canonicals, schema and llms.txt, and generates llms.txt, llms-full.txt and an agents.md file for Shopify's Agentic Storefront. GA4 attribution ties AI-referred traffic to revenue, and a branded PDF report is available. The app was launched on the Shopify App Store on 3 August 2026 by IDMB&LHMH Holdings Inc. of Commack, New York.
Pricing read on the Shopify App Store listing (apps.shopify.com/foundinai) on 20 October 2026: Free, Basic $9/mo, Starter $19/mo and Pro $49/mo, each paid plan with a 7-day trial, billed in USD every 30 days through Shopify. The listing had 0 reviews and a 0.0 rating that day. The foundinai.co homepage, read the same day, describes pricing as $0 to $99 a month, which does not match the $49 top plan on the listing, and the listing's own "See all pricing options" link to foundinai.co/pricing returned a 404.
FoundInAI covers the job on this page. Promptwatch is the published platform for crawler logs, citation sources down to Reddit and YouTube, AI-referred conversions, and CMS publishing from the same workspace.
What each plan adds
Shopify App Store listing for FoundInAI and the foundinai.co homepage and llms.txt (read 20 October 2026). Free gives an AI visibility scan with a score, robots.txt and sitemap diagnostics, canonical and redirect checks and a basic llms.txt generator. Basic at $9 adds full llms.txt customisation, version history, upload guides for Shopify and WordPress, and 5 citation checks a day on ChatGPT and Perplexity.
Starter at $19 raises that to 15 checks a day across five engines and adds GA4 AI traffic attribution, schema diagnostics, weekly trend tracking and a competitor mention comparison. Pro at $49 gives 25 checks a day, the auto-updated llms-full.txt, SKU-level citations per product, a competitor keyword gap analysis, one-click theme install and AI keyword accumulation.
How much to trust it yet
The homepage leans on a before and after score from the vendor's own memorial gifts store and on third-party industry stats, and compares itself with unnamed GEO tools at "$29 to 295+ a month". None of that is independent. Its llms.txt lists four engines rather than five, describes the site platform as WordPress and still contains lines such as "[Add your contact information here]".
The pages we read do not describe AI crawler log analysis or prompt search volumes. What FoundInAI does is narrow and cheap, and the free plan is enough to see whether its citation checks match what you see in ChatGPT yourself.

If you buy FoundInAI for the job above, plan a second tool (or Promptwatch) for the layers this listing does not document. Still missing here: AI crawler logs (Agent Analytics), crawl-to-citation path, bot errors; Content Agents that plan, write, and publish GEO pages to a CMS with a review inbox; Citation analytics at page, domain, Reddit, YouTube, and offsite level; Prompt volumes, difficulty, query fan-outs, personas, city-level geo; Prompt and citation trends (what changed between checks); ChatGPT Shopping tracking and Ads Radar; Agent Chat, Unified Actions, MCP server / REST API on paid plans. Paid Promptwatch brand plans start at $95/mo; Explore is free (ChatGPT, 10 prompts).
What Promptwatch covers that this listing does not
FoundInAI's public pages (and this listing) describe a narrower job than Promptwatch. Most rivals answer whether you were mentioned. Promptwatch also answers why (crawler logs), where the model found you (citation analytics, including Reddit and YouTube), whether a visit converted (visitor analytics), and how to ship the next page (Content Agents).
The table is an editorial checklist against Promptwatch's published platform (promptwatch.com/llms.txt, 2026-08-23). It is not a hidden feature list for this vendor. 'Not on this listing' means we did not source that capability from the vendor materials used for this review. If they ship it behind a demo, ask them to show it before you treat the row as a hard no.
