AI Search Share of Voice Tracking Tools: Brand Visibility in ChatGPT and Perplexity
Ten share-of-voice trackers ranked for ChatGPT and Perplexity: what each stores, what it costs to cover both engines, and what to prove in the trial.
Every AI visibility tool now has a share-of-voice chart. That makes the chart itself useless as a buying signal. What separates the tools is what sits underneath it: which engines are covered at the price you'll actually pay, how often each prompt is checked, and whether you can click from the percentage down to the answer that produced it.
This is a shortlist for buyers who need share of voice in ChatGPT and Perplexity specifically. ChatGPT reports 820M+ weekly active users and Perplexity 22M+ monthly, so most teams want both and need to see them separately. We ranked ten tools. If you haven't yet decided how your share of voice should be calculated, start with our share of voice measurement spec and come back with it in hand.
The comparison at a glance
Prices and limits below come from our directory listings for each tool. "Covers ChatGPT and Perplexity from" is the lowest listed plan where both engines appear to be included. Where that isn't clear from the listing, we say so.

1. Promptwatch
Share of voice and competitive benchmarking sit on top of prompt tracking with prompt volumes, difficulty scores, query fan-outs, personas, and country, state, or city targeting. That combination matters for this purchase. You can weight share of voice by how often a prompt is actually asked, and split it by market without opening a second account. Prompt trends show what changed between checks when the number moves. Citation analytics show which pages and domains the engines used, so a share-of-voice drop can be traced to a competitor's comparison page or a Reddit thread that started getting cited.
Monitoring runs against the real ChatGPT and Perplexity interfaces, not only their APIs. Essential is $95/mo with 50 prompts and a 7-day trial. Professional is $245/mo with 150 prompts and two projects. Explore is free but ChatGPT-only, so it can't show Perplexity share of voice at all.
2. AthenaHQ
AthenaHQ tracks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, and AI Overviews and folds citations, sentiment, traffic impact, and query types into one GEO score. Its Action Center turns gaps into assignable tasks, which is the reason teams buy it. For share of voice specifically, ask how the score breaks down per competitor and per engine before you sign, because a blended score is harder to defend than a plain percentage. Usage is credit-based, and G2 reviewers report burning a month's credits in the first week. Starter is single-country.
3. Scrunch AI
Scrunch covers up to nine engines at the top tier and lists competitor benchmarking. Starter includes 350 custom prompts plus 1,000 industry prompts. Two cautions for a share-of-voice buyer: prompt credits are consumed per engine, so tracking both ChatGPT and Perplexity burns the allowance faster than the headline suggests, and data refreshes weekly. Weak reporting is the top G2 complaint, with users exporting to Excel to build charts. Sitecore acquired Scrunch in June 2026.
4. Profound
Profound reports share of voice, citation share, and competitor cite-rates by prompt cluster, and its Prompt Volumes dataset is useful for weighting. The catch is plan gating. Starter at $99/mo annual is ChatGPT-only with 50 prompts, so it can't produce a Perplexity number. Growth at $399/mo annual covers three engines and 100 prompts; get the three named in writing. The broad engine list sits on Enterprise, which starts around $40k a year, and the product is now sold mainly as marketing agents. Billing is annual only.
5 to 8. LLM Pulse, Brand24, Semrush, and Ahrefs
LLM Pulse is the budget pick with real share-of-voice reporting: five engines on every plan including ChatGPT and Perplexity, from €49/mo annual for 50 prompts. Its default cadence is weekly, and daily plans cost more.
Brand24 lists AI share of voice across nine engines as an add-on to its social listening product. It makes sense if your PR team already lives in Brand24. The add-on price isn't published.
Semrush AI Toolkit offers competitor share comparisons at $99/mo per domain for 25 prompts. Its tracked prompts are AI-generated approximations rather than your own buyer questions, which weakens a share-of-voice number you plan to defend.
Ahrefs Brand Radar needs an Ahrefs base plan from $129/mo, then $199/mo per AI index. ChatGPT plus Perplexity means two indexes on top of the base. Chatbot indexes refresh on roughly monthly snapshots, and its listing cites an independent January 2026 test where it reported far fewer ChatGPT mentions than manual checks found.
9 and 10. Otterly.AI and Peec AI
Otterly.AI is the cheapest way to see a number: $29/mo for 15 prompts on four base engines including ChatGPT and Perplexity. Fifteen prompts is a testing allowance, and data can be up to seven days stale.
Peec AI tracks competitor share per prompt with a clean interface. Starter at $95/mo includes 50 prompts and three models. Every model beyond those three costs $35 to $165/mo, and there's no historical backfill, so your competitive baseline starts the day you subscribe.
What the trial must prove
Load the same 20 prompts into every tool you trial, with the same five competitors. After a week, pick five prompts and check them by hand in ChatGPT and Perplexity. Does the tool's mention list match what you saw? Then ask each vendor to show you, in the product, the individual answers behind its share-of-voice figure for one prompt. If you can't get from the percentage to the answer text in two clicks, you'll struggle to defend the number in a meeting.
Also test the competitor set. Add a sixth competitor midway through and see whether history recalculates or the chart simply jumps.
Recommended buying order
Start with Promptwatch Essential. At $95/mo it's among the lowest entry prices here for daily checks on both engines with competitor benchmarking, and the deciding factor for most buyers is that share of voice links straight to prompt trends and citation analytics, so a change can be explained rather than just reported. Price AthenaHQ next if your team wants an action queue more than a report. Scrunch and Profound make sense for larger budgets with specific needs (crawler-side serving, or a broader marketing-agent program). Keep LLM Pulse in mind if budget is the binding constraint.
