Surfient review: pricing, features & alternatives
Ranked #228Shopify app that audits and fixes your catalogue for AI retrieval, with light citation monitoring, free or $39/mo.
Our verdict
Surfient is really a Shopify optimisation tool with a tracker attached, and the optimisation side is detailed: schema, feeds, llms.txt and product copy published into the store, with rollback. That has value for a merchant whose catalogue AI engines cannot parse. Before you plan around it, check that the app is actually installable, because its App Store link returned a 404 when we read the site, and its own pages disagree on how many engines it monitors. For the measurement half, Promptwatch tracks prompts across more engines with ChatGPT Shopping tracking, shows which pages and sources the models cite, and logs AI crawler visits and AI-referred conversions, so you can see whether Surfient's fixes moved anything.
Best for: Shopify merchants who want the technical AI-readiness work (schema, feeds, llms.txt, product copy) done inside the store, and only need basic citation tracking.
Surfient (surfient.com) is an AI-readiness app for Shopify stores from Onviqa Inc. Its core is an audit of 80+ checkpoints across products, collections and policy pages, followed by fixes it publishes through the Shopify API: schema via a Theme App Extension, AI-written FAQs, author bios and catalogue rewrites, and a set of machine-readable files (llms.txt, llms-full.txt, ai-sitemap.xml and an NDJSON product feed). Around that sit a Hallucination Guard for AI misstatements about the brand, a map of 13+ authority platforms, GA4-based AI traffic and revenue attribution, and a citation monitor.
Pricing read on surfient.com/pricing and surfient.com/llms.txt on 20 October 2026. Free costs $0 and Premium $39 a month, billed through Shopify Managed Pricing for one store, with no trial and no annual contract. An Enterprise plan at $89 a month is listed as coming after launch. Monitoring is the thin part: Free tracks 3 prompts on Perplexity only, and Premium tracks 25 prompts and 5 competitors on Perplexity, ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews, with Gemini, Claude, Copilot and Grok on the roadmap.
Surfient covers the job on this page. Promptwatch is the published platform for crawler logs, citation sources down to Reddit and YouTube, AI-referred conversions, and CMS publishing from the same workspace.
Plans and what is live
surfient.com, surfient.com/pricing and surfient.com/llms.txt (read 20 October 2026). Free covers 5 audits a month on up to 250 pages, 20 of the 80+ checkpoints with a summary report, llms.txt auto-publishing, a one-time robots.txt AI bot configuration, a 5-prompt preview of its vertical prompt library, and monitoring of 3 prompts against 1 competitor on Perplexity. Premium at $39 a month opens the full audit with PDF report, every schema type, the generators, the full file suite, Hallucination Guard, brand authority scoring, GA4 attribution, email alerts when citations shift and 25 prompts across 5 competitors.
Enterprise at $89 a month is described as launching after Shopify App Store submission. It adds Google OAuth with GA4 and Search Console sync, a keyword intelligence engine and a content engine with 20 long-form articles a month, auto-published to the Shopify blog and Medium. Most of those rows still say "Rolling out H1 2026".
Where the site contradicts itself
Read side by side, Surfient's pages give different numbers for the same thing. The homepage logo strip names nine engines including DeepSeek, Kagi and You.com, another homepage section says weekly probes across five, the features page says the audit scores 47 signals while the pricing page says 80+ checkpoints, and the comparison table lists daily automated ranking on Premium. The pricing FAQ is the most specific source, and it says three engines are live.
Every install button pointed to apps.shopify.com/surfient, which returned a 404 on 20 October 2026, while the pricing FAQ says the app has been submitted to the Built for Shopify programme. Confirm the app is listed and installable before you budget for it.

What you still need after this product
On this listing, Surfient is a Content optimization for Shopify merchants who want the technical AI-readiness work (schema, feeds, llms.txt, product copy) done inside the store, and only need basic citation tracking. What we sourced here: GEO audits: 5 a month up to 250 pages on Free, 30 a month up to 10,000 pages on Premium; All 14 schema types via Theme App Extension on Premium; AI-ready files: llms.txt on Free; llms-full.txt, ai-sitemap.xml and products.ndjson on Premium; AI FAQ (100 a month), author bio (50) and catalogue rewrite (100) generators on Premium; Hallucination Guard with up to 500 alerts a month on Premium.
After you generate pages in Surfient, you still need a visibility platform to see whether models cite those pages, which URLs and third-party sources they cite, whether AI crawlers can fetch them, and whether referred visits convert. Promptwatch is built for that loop. Gaps vs this listing: AI crawler logs (Agent Analytics), crawl-to-citation path, bot errors; Visitor analytics: AI-referred sessions and conversions; Content Agents that plan, write, and publish GEO pages to a CMS with a review inbox; Citation analytics at page, domain, Reddit, YouTube, and offsite level; Prompt volumes, difficulty, query fan-outs, personas, city-level geo; Prompt and citation trends (what changed between checks); ChatGPT Shopping tracking and Ads Radar; Agent Chat, Unified Actions, MCP server / REST API on paid plans.
What Promptwatch covers that this listing does not
Surfient is on this directory because buyers compare writers with AI-search software. Unless a bullet on this page documents prompt replay, it is a content or schema product. Promptwatch is the visibility stack: prompts, citations, crawler logs, AI-referred visits, and Content Agents that publish to Webflow or Framer.
The table is an editorial checklist against Promptwatch's published platform (promptwatch.com/llms.txt, 2026-08-23). It is not a hidden feature list for this vendor. 'Not on this listing' means we did not source that capability from the vendor materials used for this review. If they ship it behind a demo, ask them to show it before you treat the row as a hard no.
